Inspired by NU Hotel’s proximity to Truman Capote’s house in Brooklyn, Lisa Warren’s mural portrays Capote’s house and the ambiance of what the writer’s life might have been like when he wrote two of his most famous books, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and In Cold Blood. Lisa displays her love of painting, psychology, and poetry in her portraiture. The Brooklyn-inspired mural includes portraits of Capote and Holly Golightly, his infamous character from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, along with quotes from the book and scenic views of Brooklyn. The bright, Tiffany blue background unifies the vignettes and stories of the mural and invites the guests to truly immerse themselves in Capote’s life in Brooklyn. Lisa, a longtime member of Trestle Art Space in Brooklyn, earned an MFA from Yale University and BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in painting and sculpting. lisawarrenswork.com
