Did you know The Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade is the 2nd oldest parade in the country? This year marks the 88th anniversary of the parade and it promises to be bigger than ever. The parade, which is a total of 2.5 miles in length, kicks off at 77th street and Central park West at 9:00 a.m., then goes by Central Park West – where a lot of people like view it, early birds should aim to get there at 6:00 a.m. on the west side of Central Park West from 59th to 75th street. The parade then turns to Columbus Circle onto Central Park South. The parade makes its final stop in front of Macy’s Herald Square.
You can even mix in some shopping and get great views of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade when you go to the Time Warner Center and the shops at Columbus Circle. From the 2nd and 3rd floors you can see the parade!
