Big Band Hanukkah | December 10th

This year, Hanukkah will run from December 18th through the 26th, but the festivities will begin early with this Big Band concert. Featuring a large ensemble of swing musicians, this rollicking production will get the season started off right from Kingsborough Community College.

The Brooklyn neighborhood of Dyker Heights is famous for its elaborate and enthusiastic display of Christmas lights every year. This tour makes it easy for travelers to see both the best displays and a warming dinner included in the mix.

The Brooklyn Nutcracker | December 17th

There’s no better production that celebrates the holidays Brooklyn Style than this reimagining of The Nutcracker. Blending elements of the musical’s historic ballet association with hip-hop and other world-dance genres, this rollicking show modernizes a timeless Christmas classic. The world of old Brooklyn coupled with that of The Nutcracker promises to be a great time.

Grand Army Plaza Menorah Lighting | December 18th

Every year, the “world’s largest menorah lighting” takes place at Grand Army Plaza in Park Slope. This year’s menorah lighting schedule begins at 4 pm on the first night of Hanukkah, and then there will be another each night after for the remaining seven nights. Each lighting includes live music, latkes, and gifts for kids.

Kwanzaa Extravaganza | December 26th

The Global Ubuntu Foundation will be hosting a special Kwanzaa celebration in Brooklyn this year, and it promises to be a great time. The third annual edition of the event, this year will once again feature drumming, dancing, poetry, food, and more.
