Japan may be better known for its cherry blossoms than any other country, but there are some pretty impressive sakuranbo in the States as well. If you find yourself in Brooklyn in late April, consider attending the Sakura Matsuri (cherry festival) at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. In addition to awe-inspiring pink and white blossoms, you’ll be able to choose from up to 60 events and performances that celebrate Japanese culture. 2016 marks the 35th anniversary of the festival, and it promises to be a treat for all who attend.
