This March marks the sixth Queens World Film Festival at the Museum of the Moving Image and other venues around the ever-more popular NYC borough. Screening 80-100 films, the festival presents films among six categories: feature films, shorts, documentaries, LGBT-themed films, animated films and, for the first time, family films. Far younger than other major film festivals around the world—Sundance, Cannes,Toronto—the QWFF attracts an experimental and engaging collection of independent and foreign cinema that’s unheard of among the big name festivals.
