Brooklyn’s Caribbean Street Parade

September 5, 2016

Brooklyn has the largest population of West Indians outside of the Caribbean. This can be experienced simply by walking around neighborhoods of Central and East Brooklyn and glancing at the names of neighborhood restaurants. While several individual populations have celebrations of their own, the West Indian American Day Carnival & Parade is special because it celebrates West Indians of all backgrounds.

If you’ll be in Brooklyn for Labor Day this year, the West Indian American Carnival is a great way to get a taste for the music, food, and other cultural aspects of the West Indies. Just stop by the Rogers Avenue Event Center to see some of the impressive talent on display.

Book here to stay with NU Hotel during the New York West Indies parade. For more information about the event, visit the festival’s website.
