Brooklyn Pour is a great time. New York City’s favorite free and offbeat publication, the Village Voice has thrown this impressive craft beer festival annually in Brooklyn the past few years. With over 100 craft brews and thousands of patrons strolling in and out to sample the goods and catch a mellow buzz, the Brooklyn Pour promises to be an eye opening consumer event and an easy, good time.
The first thing attendees will have to enjoy upon entering the festival will be the utterly breathtaking beauty of the venue— Skylight One Hanson. Modeled after art-deco influences, Skylight One boasts ceilings upwards of sixty feet tall along with gorgeous mosaics and sculptures. The tall and open space was appropriated from what was formerly the Williamsburg Savings Bank. This building is a landmark and nearly ninety years old.
After jaw-dropped visitors come to terms with the setting’s grandeur, they can get to the main spectacle— the beer. There will be an incredible abundance of delicious beer to be tasted, discussed and discovered at this year’s Brooklyn Pour. Respected and revered breweries in attendance will include: Dogfish Head, Brooklyn Brewery, Founders, Harpoon, ACBC, Bear Republic, Shipyard and Victory. These are the players who dominate bar menus all around NYC and other major cities. With more breweries to be announced, prospective attendees can count on one thing— the beer will be good and plentiful.
With representatives from all of these established beer companies present, the extensive tastings will be backed by educated conversation and eye opening insights. Patrons will be able to sop up all of that delicious brew with some meals and snacks from the Brooklyn Pour food court. The craft beer festival will take place at Skylight One Hanson in Fort Green, Brooklyn on Saturday, September 27th.
