Brooklyn is known as home to some of the best hip hop acts of all time so it’s fitting that the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival is one of the best musical festivals in NYC. This year the festival celebrates its 10 year anniversary with a talented lineup including Raekwon , Jay Electronica, CJ Fly, Cyhi The Prynce and DJ Rob Swift. The live performances take place on Saturday, July 12, at Williamsburg Park. The festival is family-friendly, with ticket prices ranging from $24-$50.
July 9 Told It First Hand
The festival kicks off July 9 at the Brooklyn Historical Society with Told It First Hand hosted by Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival Founder and Executive Director Wes Jackson. The acclaimed series is an intimate discussion with the “do-ers” in Hip-Hop and in Brooklyn. The second session will be a LIVE edition of The Combat Jack Show, rated the #1 Hip-Hop podcast by Complex Magazine.
July 10 The Dummy Clap Film Festival
Enjoy a screening of films that discuss issues relevant not only to the hip-hop community, but also the spirit of filmmakers who embody the hip-hop spirit.

The 10th Annual Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival is bound to have some surprises in store. Kanye West surprised audiences with an unannounced performance in 2011, and 2012 saw the first full-cast performance of A Tribe Called Quest’s “Scenario” in 20 years.
