Trust us, you won’t want to arrive at the Brooklyn Greenmarket without having read out Guide to Fall Produce first. The Brooklyn Greenmarket takes place every Saturday year round at the Brooklyn Borough Hall plaza at the intersection of Court and Montague Streets from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

A few of our favorite featured vendors include cheese and vegetables from Central Valley Farm in Hunterdon County, NJ, fruit and veggies from Fishkill Farm in Dutchess County NY veggies from Philllips Farm in Hunterdon County NK and Wilklow Orchards sells fruit, vegetables, jams and baked goods.
Apples: Apples are clearly the star fall produce fruit! Honey Crisp, Swiss Gourmet, Granny Smith, Golden delicious and Fuji apples are all popular varieties. Just eat them or get cooking: make an apple pie, apple sauce, apple cider, or apple tart … the list goes on and on.

Butternut Squash: Whether it’s a squash ravioli or roasted butternut squash with brown sugar, this vegetable is a fall staple that you’ll definitely want to pick up at the Brooklyn Greenmarket.
Pumpkin: If apples are the fall produce star, then this show clearly has two headline acts — pumpkins are undeniably an obsession of fall. Did you know that pumpkins are actually not a vegetable? They are berries! Pumpkins can be sweet or savory and are fantastic as the filling of a pumpkin pie or even in pumpkin chili.

Brussels Sprouts: Roasted Brussels Sprouts are a delicious way to embrace fall veggies. Put them as a side dish (topped with a balsamic glaze) or include them with pastas.
Sweet Potatoes & yams: this classic root vegetable is perfect as a solo dish simply roasted. We also love sweet potatoes fries, with quinoa as a hearty fall dish or puréed as a soup.
Turnips: This often overlooked vegetable is bursting with flavor — enjoy turnips simple with butter or in a soup.
We hope our guide to fall produce is a helpful starting place for making the most out of your experience at the Brooklyn Greenmarket.
