Bushwick has been a major player in New York City’s nightlife for several years now, and new bars and night clubs continue to open all the time. In the past year alone, more than 20 late-night hangouts have held grand openings. If you’re looking to check out one of the hottest new bars in one of the hippest parts of town on your next visit to Brooklyn, make sure these Bushwick establishments are on your radar.

The Bad Old Days

A cozy fireplace, dim lighting, and an excess of exposed brick give Bad Old Days an aging living room feel. Board games and warming whiskey drinks make it a great place to escape the cold and windy winter.

Bonus Room

Another board game dive bar, Bonus Room has plenty of organized activities and arcade-style fun to keep you busy for a night out. You’ll find pinball machines, darts setups, and a pool table. The Bushwick bar hosts movie nights and trivia nights, and is reliably good for people-watching.

Cape House

Billed as Bushwick’s first New England-style clam shack, Cape House opened this past October and has been hopping ever since. Visit for the clams, the cocktails, live music, or all three. When the weather gets warmer, you can expect the patio here to be a real draw.

2 Knickerbocker Ave.
Brooklyn, NY 11237

Juno is the latest project from the mastermind behind Bossa Nova, a dance club that has done exceedingly well among the crowd it was intended to draw. Juno’s no dance club. It’s a New American restaurant with a diner feel that serves food late but starts to feel more like a cocktail lounge than a diner after about 10pm.

1264 Myrtle Ave.
Brooklyn, NY 11221

Located off the Morgan L stop, Syndicated is a movie theater, bar, and restaurant all rolled into one. Check the website to see what recent classics are playing when you’re in town. If you’re not interested in what’s screening, visit for great happy hour specials and good bar food.
