brooklyn bridge park

Spring is fast approaching, giving prospective Nu Hotel guests the opportunity to explore the great outdoors with the hotel’s complimentary Brooklyn bike-share program.

Nu Hotel’s collection of vintage-styled Brooklyn Cruisers are functionally and aesthetically perfect for a leisurely day on the town. With the coming warm weather on our mind, we thought the best spot to suggest for exploration is the visually magnificent Brooklyn Bridge Park. Here are a few of our favorite spots to check out when visiting the park.

Pier 1

The first pier of Brooklyn Bridge Park features some of the area’s most picturesque panoramic views of Lower Manhattan. With many beautiful vantage points, the pier also has concessions, a great playground and access to the East River Ferry and New York Water Taxi for further exploration.

Pier 2

The second pier will beg you to hop off your Brooklyn Cruiser for a bit of by-foot exploration. This waterfront collection of sports courts is unlike anything else in the borough, with basketball, handball, bocce and shuffleboard all within arms’ reach of one another.

Pier 3

The Greenway Terrace will beautifully accommodate your bike ride along Pier 3 with a serene waterside pathway. The river and city views are absolutely breathtaking, and there are plenty of places to take a break, take a seat, and enjoy the scenery.

Pier 4

Pier 4 offers Brooklyn cyclists another vantage point at which to stop and enjoy the city. The pier’s centerpiece is its a quaint little beach, built on an old railroad float transfer bridge. The sand and water offer serenity that’s difficult to find elsewhere in the city.

Pier 5

Pier 5 is a fun-filled, family-friendly park in Brooklyn. Buckle down for a soccer match in the shadow of Manhattan’s stunning skyscrapers, reel in a catch or two from the fishing station, or grab a frozen treat at Brooklyn favorite Ample Hills Creamery.

Pier 6

Brooklyn Bridge Park truly saves its best for last at Pier 6. The park’s southernmost point offers some of its most engaging attractions, including Fornino’s famous wood-fired pizzas, a massive kids’ playground, and a connection to the Governors Island Ferry.

With its beautiful bike paths, breathtaking city views, wide array of dining options and variety of opportunities to play, Brooklyn Bridge Park stands out as an extraordinary microcosm of our home borough.
